Best part of a fun night? This tasty cure.

The past few weeks have been crazy hectic!
I helped my parents move my Dad out of his Toronto apartment (that I was conveniently living in for the past five months rent free - thanks Daddy!) and was on the hunt for my own little slice of the city.

My roommate and I had luck on our side and moved into a brand new condo just last weekend. I couldn't be happier with where we have ended up - convenient location, view of Lake Ontario, gorgeous windows and a spotless kitchen! Once we have put the finishing touches on decor I will do a post showcasing our little city nook.

Last Saturday was move in day and it was sliiiiick! Thanks to university and college my family has plenty of moving experience and we were able to get me all settled in with no fuss. We are still needing a few things and my roommate suggested we head to IKEA the next morning to get started. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Naturally, though, we wanted to break in our new place with a few celebratory beers and a little bubbly so come Sunday morning IKEA seemed the worst idea. And it was. We struggled and dragged ourselves through the blue arrow path and only came out with the essentials.

By time we arrived home I was starving and didn't want to make the trek to a diner for greasy eggs or to the grocery store for a quick fix so I popped my head into the fridge. With a massive headache, the shakes and a rumbling stomach this delicious Hangover Sandwich was born.

What you'll need:
 4 slices of bacon
2 eggs
1/2 a avocado (I had to add a little nutrition!)
1 dollop of roasted red pepper spread
2-4 slices of jalapeno havarti
Two slices of your favourite bread
Pepper to taste

Cook your bacon until crispy crunchy. Pop your bread in the toaster, drain the grease and fry up your eggs in the delicious bacon drippings  - it's bad I know but the eggs taste so damn good this way! Once the frying's done it is time to assemble.
Coat your two slices of toast with the red pepper spread, add your avocado half (and mush up a bit), sprinkle with pepper and top with bacon, eggs and cheeeeese! Throw on that last piece of toast and chow down!

A peak under the hood.

Planning my attack.

Going for it!

Struggling.

A little messy but it's sooo good!
May your hangovers be cured!

A trip through my 2012.

Another year has come and gone.
WOW. Where did 2012 go?!

I seriously believe that by the time I'm 50 a year will pass by in the blink of an eye. Time just seems to be whizzing past and I've been struggling to keep up.

2012 was the year I finished post-grad in public relations - thinking it would be my last bout of school but, who knows, maybe I'll wind up with a masters tucked under my belt in a few. I traveled to Poland for the first time and Italy for the third. I started to really cook with passion behind it. My longest, best friend got married. I proudly ended an exhausting, going-nowhere-semi-relationship. I landed an incredible internship. I turned 25.

Here I am now though, in the beginning of 2013, in total panic mode. Going for coffees with friends of my old bosses, scouring the internet for job postings, trying to figure out how I can get an apartment in the next month. I'm kinda freaking out.

But I have a feeling that 2012 was just my ramp-up year and that 2013 is going to be full of successes, adventures and new recipes for happiness.

Here is a little trip through my 2012.

Graduated again with a PR post grad - woohoo!

My family got a new puppy - we named her Lottie.

My first time in Poland. Spent an emotional day at Auschwitz.

Rome.

I could live in Italy.

Refreshing watermelon & tomato salad.

Homemade 'zaaa.

Poppin bubbles on our way to Montreal!

The best salad I ate in 2012.

A few snippits of an amazing weekend with my besties.

One of my longest and bestest friends on her special day!
Plus one of my favourite purchases of the year - my dress from Italy.

First attempt at homemade Chelsea buns - couldn't snap a picture before some were gone!

What most of my summer weekends looked like.

Lottie dries herself with a towel.

Sisters!

A deliciously simple summer dessert.

Cottage nights.

Could look at this view all day.

Hard to beat a good ski on a calm lake.

One of my favourite pictures of the year - caught Lottie in midair!

On my 25th birthday.

One of my birthday dinners - first time eating foie gras!

JAMIE OLIVER!

First time I made biscotti.

Third place finishers in the Chef's Challenge Cookie battle.

CHUCK HUGHES!

Can't get enough of this little girl.

Mont Tremblant.

I think Tremblant is one of the most romantic winter getaways.

Ringing in 2013!
